Hemp Oil for Pets Across La Plata County
Colorado-grown hemp oil for pets, made on our family farm and delivered across La Plata County.
Grown in La Plata County, for La Plata County Pets
From Hesperus to Hermosa to Ignacio, La Plata County is dog country: ranch dogs that work from sunrise, trail dogs that never seem to tire, and couch-loving seniors who have earned their rest. Bloodhound Hemp Farms grows its hemp right here in the county, so the CBD oil your pet takes comes from the same high-altitude air and water they live in.
We are a small, family-run farm near Durango. We grow with natural methods and no pesticides, blend our full-spectrum extract with MCT coconut oil, and send every batch to an independent lab before it goes in a bottle. Three oils — Plain, Bacon and Cheese — cover dogs and cats of just about every size and appetite, and we deliver across the county.

Where most La Plata County owners start
Ranch households tend to buy Plain 750mg by the pair, because one bottle rarely stretches across three working dogs and a barn cat. If you are dosing a single medium dog, Bacon 600mg is the easier sell at feeding time. Whichever you choose, the dropper is graduated, so a 90-pound guardian dog and a 20-pound heeler can share a bottle without guesswork.
Meet the Farm Behind the Bottle
Bloodhound Hemp Farms is named for Memphis, our family bloodhound, whose stiff joints and restless nights sent us looking for a gentle, natural way to help her — and what we found became this farm. Memphis crossed the rainbow bridge in March 2025 at age 13, and her pack of four keeps us company in the fields today. Owners Cammy Donnen and Jeff Blevans still run the place themselves, and every bottle is made in her honor.
Our Full-Spectrum CBD Oils
Three simple oils, each blended with temperature-stable MCT coconut oil and tested by an independent lab. The dropper lets you adjust the serving to your pet's size.

Working and ranch dogs
Herding, guarding and long days on acreage are hard on a dog's body. Full-spectrum CBD helps support joint comfort and healthy recovery so your working partner can keep up.
Cold mornings and snowy winters
When temperatures drop, older dogs often move a little slower. A daily serving can help support mobility and comfort through the long La Plata County winter.
Summer thunderstorms
Afternoon storms roll across the valley most of the summer. Our oils are made to support calm when the thunder starts.
Trips into town
Vet visits, groomers and drives down Highway 160 are easier with a relaxed dog. Many owners give a serving before they head out.
Caring for Dogs on Rural Property
Dogs on acreage live bigger lives than city dogs, and they often hide stiffness until it slows them down. Watch for a slower start in the mornings, hesitation at the truck tailgate or trouble settling at night. Those are good times to talk to your vet and to think about daily support. Many county families add our oil to the evening meal so it becomes part of the routine, just like feeding and checking water. Because our farm is here in the county, restocking is simple and you can always call the people who grow it.

Why Full-Spectrum?
Full-spectrum hemp oil keeps more of the plant together: CBD plus other cannabinoids like CBG and CBC, along with natural terpenes and flavonoids. Working together they create what is known as the entourage effect, so the whole blend supports your pet's balance better than CBD alone. Every animal, from a Great Dane to a house cat, has an endocannabinoid system for CBD to work with, gently and without intoxication. No pesticides, no fillers, non-GMO, third-party lab tested.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We serve all of La Plata County from our farm near Durango, including Hesperus, Hermosa, Ignacio, Durango West and Vallecito. Order online and your oil ships straight from the farm.
Hemp-derived CBD is non-intoxicating, and our oils contain no pesticides or fillers. Many owners of active and working dogs use it daily. As with any supplement, check with your vet first, especially if your dog takes medication.
Start low and go slow. Our product guidance is to begin with 0.25–0.5ml per day and increase gradually based on your dog's size and response. Our Plain oil (750mg) is the strongest option for larger dogs. Your vet can help you find the right amount.
Isolate is CBD on its own. Full-spectrum keeps other natural hemp compounds — like CBG, CBC, terpenes and flavonoids — that work together in what is called the entourage effect.
Our oils are formulated for dogs and cats. We do not publish guidance for horses or livestock, so please ask your large-animal vet before giving it to anything other than a dog or cat.
Do not. MCT oil thickens in the cold and heat degrades it, so keep the bottle indoors at room temperature with the cap tight, and carry out only what you need for that day.
