CBD Oil for Dogs in Aztec, NM, Grown Just Up the Animas
Full-spectrum CBD oil for dogs and cats from a family hemp farm just up the Animas in Durango, CO.
Grown Just Up the River
The Animas River flows from Durango down through Aztec, and so does our CBD oil. Bloodhound Hemp Farms is a small family hemp farm about 35 miles north on Highway 550. We grow our own hemp at high altitude in southwest Colorado and turn it into full-spectrum CBD oil made just for pets.
We keep things simple: hemp grown with natural methods and no pesticides, MCT coconut oil, and a hint of bacon or cheese for dogs who like a treat — or no flavor at all for sensitive pets. Every batch is independently lab tested, so you know exactly what you are giving your dog. For Aztec families, that means farm-direct CBD from just up the road, not from a warehouse across the country.

Where most Aztec owners start
High-desert summers push most Aztec owners toward an evening routine, and a flavoured oil makes that easier to keep up — Bacon 600mg is the usual first bottle for a dog in the 15 to 50 pound range. Rescues still settling into a new home often do better on Plain 750mg, because there is no flavour to put off a dog with an unsettled stomach.
Meet the Farm Behind the Bottle
Bloodhound Hemp Farms is named for Memphis, our family bloodhound, whose stiff joints and restless nights sent us looking for a gentle, natural way to help her — and what we found became this farm. Memphis crossed the rainbow bridge in March 2025 at age 13, and her pack of four keeps us company in the fields today. Owners Cammy Donnen and Jeff Blevans still run the place themselves, and every bottle is made in her honor.

Helping Your Dog Through the Heat
Aztec summers are hot and dry, and older dogs feel it first. Walk early in the morning or after sunset, test the pavement with the back of your hand, and make sure there is always shade and fresh water. Many owners give their daily serving in the evening, when their dog is winding down, to support restful sleep through warm nights. Store your CBD oil inside, away from windows and out of the car, so the heat does not affect it. Small habits like these add up to a more comfortable summer.

Why Full-Spectrum?
Full-spectrum hemp oil keeps more of the plant together: CBD plus other cannabinoids like CBG and CBC, along with natural terpenes and flavonoids. Working together they create what is known as the entourage effect, so the whole blend supports your pet's balance better than CBD alone. Every animal, from a Great Dane to a house cat, has an endocannabinoid system for CBD to work with, gently and without intoxication. No pesticides, no fillers, non-GMO, third-party lab tested.

Hemp-derived CBD is non-intoxicating, and our oils contain no pesticides, fillers or artificial ingredients. Start with a small serving and increase slowly, and talk to your vet first, especially if your dog takes any medication.
Our Bacon oil (600mg) is made for dogs about 15–50 lbs. Larger dogs may do better with the Plain oil (750mg). Whatever you choose, start with 0.25–0.5ml per day and increase slowly, and ask your vet.
Every batch is tested by an independent lab. You can view our results on the lab results page.
Hemp-derived CBD within federal limits is sold across New Mexico. Rules change, so if you are unsure about a specific product, check the current state guidance before you order.
Bring it in as soon as you can and let the bottle come back to room temperature before use. A short spell of heat will not empty the bottle of value, but repeated heat cycling is worth avoiding.
